Craig A. Falconer has done it again, "Book 8" in the "Not Alone Series" - Triple-Trilogy and it's a good one.His writing keep you on your toes, you get to a point where you think things are going to straighten out and WHAM... something changes, something happens that set you back and you have to say, "Wow, I didn't expect that" ! Your need to read, goes through the roof !Craig's writings keep you guessing along his line until things change and you want to say I thought that but in reality no one has any idea where he is going or what you will find in the pages of the eight book in his Triple-Trilogy, "Not Alone - Hidden Wonder".As usual the "Not Alone Series" keeps you involved, keeps the intrigue in high gear and keeps you wanting more. Piper shows herself to be both a kid and a sprouting adult with determination to match and her mother's will to make changes for the good.All I can say is, Thank you to Craig A. Falconer, for continuing his Double-Trilogy and writing three more books, yes people there will be a #9.You won't be disappointed in the complete series, try it you will like it ! There were many problems with the narration in prior books. These problems were not duplicated in this book. Instead, the story was written in a very creditable fashion, but somehow the excitement was lost. There are some interesting problems that arose. Our team had to contest a [censored for sensitivity] that seemed precognitient. An alien landmine activated threatening the entirety of human existence, and an archeological treasure hunt was necessary to deactivate it. Half the McCarthy clan got isolated on the wrong side of the gateway after it became deactivated. This allowed a parallel investigation of the landmine that essentially wiped out the Kerguellan aliens a thousand years earlier. Although uplift abilities were lost on our side of the gate, there were two exceptions. One of which comes as a big and multiple factored surprise. We basically solve all these problems leaving a few hints for the next novel. Although the story was rather clinical in its presentation, I found it interesting. I noted parallels between Timo and Branson of real life in that Timo was willing to risk himself on his various adventures. At this writing Branson has launched himself into space, returned, and is still alive to talk about it. Timo pulls a few similar hat tricks, and lives to talk about them. There's no doubt that Mr Falconer has a creative imagination, and it makes his books different from the standard fare. The book can be read as a standalone, but many nuances are lost if the reader has not read the previous books in this series.
